Eric Wells is a native of La Marque and coached at La Marque for six years when the Cougars won three state championships. Wells graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a B.S. degree.
He was named 4A “Coach of the Year” by the Houston Texans in 2009 and 2011 after seeing the Eagles advance to the 4A Division I state semifinals.
Wells is married to wife, Angela, who is a Real Estate Agent with Stanfield Properties. They have two children, Tucker, age 20, and Spencer, age 17. Wells enjoys fishing and spending time with his family.
Ryan Silvertooth is a native of La Marque, Texas. He earned a B.S. degree in Kinesiology with a minor in English from Sam Houston State. He was a member of the La Marque Cougars when they won the state championship in 1995. He was also on the ‘Coogs’ state runner-up teams in 1993 and 1994.
Silvertooth begins his 17th year coaching with five previous years at Pearland HS and has been with Dawson HS for the past ten years. He teaches P.E.
Silvertooth enjoys time with his wife, Tiffany, who is a registered nurse. They have two children, Brayden, age 10, and Mallory, age 2. Silvertooth also enjoys fishing, golf, and watching college football.
Shannon Carter has been coaching for nine years. He is a native of El Reno, Oklahoma. He received a B.S. degree in History from the University of Tulsa. He served as a student assistant coach at Tulsa and also coached at Norman HS in Oklahoma and Baytown Sterling HS.
He teaches U.S. History and coaches sophomore baseball. He is married to wife Gretchen, who is an athletic trainer at Dawson HS, and has a daughter, Kinley, age 1. Carter enjoys fishing and lifting weights.
Gabe Grant is a native of Kingwood, Texas. He graduated from Sam Houston State University with a B.S. degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s in Education from Lamar University. He begins his 15th year of coaching and his 10th year at Dawson.
Grant is married to wife, Leslie, who is the Dawson Diamond Drill Team Director. The couple have a bundle of joy in daughter, Caroline, age 5. Grant enjoys playing golf and hanging out with family and friends.
He was co-captain of the 2002 Texas and Western Championship Rugby Team at Sam Houston State. He also graduated Magna Cum Laude from SHSU and completed his Master’s with a 4.0 GPA from Lamar University. Grant is the academic coordinator/recruiting and teaches U.S. Government.
Daniel Stuckey is a native of Gatesville, Texas. He received a B.S. degree in Economics from Texas A&M and a M.B.A. from UT-Tyler. Stuckey has been coaching for 13 years. He is in his 10th year at Pearland ISD. Stuckey previously coached at Texas College.
He teaches Economics. He is married to wife, Dawn, who is an Athletic Trainer at Rice University and they are proud parents of newborn twins, Alexandra and Katelyn.
Stuckey competes in Half Ironman/Ironman Triathlons and enjoys hunting and fishing. He is the Special Teams Coordinator/Outside Linebackers coach and the head powerlifting coach.
Mike Garcia is a native of Houston, Texas. He earned a degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He has been coaching for 10 years with a previous stop at Humble, and Baytown Sterling.
Garcia teaches Spanish. He is married to wife, Daisy. The couple have two children, Melanie Alyssa, age 9, and Elijah David, age 5.
Garcia enjoys B-B-Qing, golf, fixing cars, and watching football. He is the defensive line coach.
Steven Kenney is a native of Pearland, Texas. Kenney earned a B.S degree in Mathematics and a M.B.A. in Business Administration from Texas State University where he was a standout player. This is his 3rd year coaching.
Kenney teaches Chemistry and Food Science. He also coaches boys soccer. Kenney is married to wife, Heather, who is in sales. He enjoys woodworking.
Levi Bandy is a native of Brady, Texas. He graduated from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences and a Master’s in Education Administration from Lamar University.
He has been coaching for eight years. He teaches Business Law, entrepreneurship, and coaches track. He previously had coaching stints in Amarillo, Floydada, and Midland Lee.
He has a beautiful daughter, Mollie, age 2. Bandy enjoys golf, hunting, fishing, woodworking, spelunking, water and snow skiing.
Troy Myers is a native of Houston. Texas. He earned a B.A. degree in Mathematics and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University. This is his seventh year at Dawson HS.
He is married to wife, Jessica, who is an English teacher at Dawson. Myers enjoys video games, golf, Bible study, and being involved with the youth at his church. He coaches the running backs and is also the head track coach.
Kevin Pool is a native of Pearland and was a standout player for the Pearland Oilers.
He received a B.S. in History from Rice University. He has been coaching for five years. He teaches World History and coaches girls soccer.
He is married to wife, Casey, who is a teacher at Cockrell Elementary. They have a newborn son, Kaleb. He enjoys lifting weights, watching sports with is son, and playing video games.
Jared Cox is a native of Channelview, Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas with a B.S. in Sports Management. This is his 6th year at Dawson.
Cox teaches SPED and coaches baseball. He is married to wife, Lauren, who is a Speech Language Pathologist. Cox enjoys United Games Marketing, golf, video games, and whale watching. He coaches the safeties.
Jamie Hutchison is a native of Port Arthur, Texas. He graduated with a BA degree in English and History from TCU. He also has an APU MS degree in Sports Management. He has been coaching for 10 years.
Hutchison teaches English and is also the head coach for girls soccer. He is married to wife, Paige, who is an Elementary Asst. Principal at CCISD. They have two children, Ethan, age 9, and Clare, age 4. He enjoys fishing and golf.
Derek Hufnagel is a native of Pearland, Texas. He earned a degree in Resource Environmental Studies and Coaching from Texas State University. He teaches SPED and also coaches soccer.
Hufnagel enjoys watching sports, going to concerts, fishing, and fantasy football.
Chris Shaddock is the head athletic trainer for Dawson High School. A native of Humble, Texas, Shaddock graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Kinesiology.
He was an assistant trainer for Pearland High School prior to the opening of Dawson HS. He previously served at Bryan HS for six years.
Shaddock is married to wife, Whitney, and they are the proud parents of son Grady, age 7, and daughter Emerson, age 2. Shaddock enjoys hunting and playing with the kids.
Gretchen Carter is a native of Alma, Kansas. She received a B.S. degree in Exercise Science/Athletic Training from Witchita State University and a Master's in Education from the University of Tulsa. Carter was previously at Carson-Newman College and most recently at the University of Tulsa. She is in her 3rd year at Dawson.
Carter is married to husband, Shannon, who is a Dawson football coach. They have a daughter, Kinley, age 1. Carter enjoys baking and all activities associated with the mountains as well as spending time with family.
Roderick Williams is a native of Denison, Texas. he received a B.S. degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences and is currently working on a Master's in Sport Management at Liberty University. He has been an athletic trainer for eight years and teaches Sports Medicine/Athletic Training.
He is married to wife, Samantha, who is an Account Manager for Paradigm Partners Corporate Tax Consultants. They have one child, Addison Janae, age 1. Williams enjoys reading, camping, golf and exercising. He is also an Eagle Scout, was an athletic intern for the Carolina Panthers, and worked with Bob Knight at Texas Tech.
